Le Pont Boulangerie & Cafe

Four days ago, Daniel and I visited Le Pont Boulangerie, at Klang Lama. The words "Le Pont" itself are French and it stands for "the bridge" (heh if you're looking for wifi, this is the password!). Initially I suggested to go another place for brunch but Daniel wanted this as he was craving for breads LOLOL I don't know why but it sounds weird to crave for breads, isn't it? I personally think that this is quite similar to Levain Boulangerie and Tour les Jours, but with better ambience and greater design.

Let's get started with the exterior! The store has a more modern looking design on both inside and outside. Apparently, it's all in dark grey and black with big glasses, just like any other trendy yet simple looking cafes. It is located at Klang Lama, probably 3 to 5 minutes drive from Scott Garden. Daniel told me that some reviews mentioned that it was hard to find a parking there but it didn't happen in my case. We found quite a few at the same row. I guess it really depends on what time and which day you're visiting that area.

This is the first section that you would get exposed to once you step into the store. It is like a big, spacious and beautifully renovated bakery! I was like "woah such a huge bakery" HAHA. Don't get cheated! Not everything is edible. Some are just decorations!

There are three sections: Ground floor, first floor and the second floor. Basically, the ground floor (in the pictures above) are for people who eat breads. If you're planning to try more things like, those in the menu, you are highly recommended to sit up there. Since orders will be taken on the upper floor.

*grabbing some breads*

What's better than a croissant? Yes. A CHOCOLATE CROISSANT! Haha!
When it comes to breads, croissant has to be one of my favourites.

One more for Daniel, a berry jam doughnut. I really didn't like this. I am not a big fan of doughnuts. Every time I take doughnut, I'll get slightly disgusted, except for those with many toppings like J.Co ones. Mainly because I think doughnuts are always too doughy and with toppings it kinda cover up that strong taste of dough.

We didn't grab too many breads as I wanted to try their risotto and waffles. Sometimes I am a big or moderate eater, and sometimes I am a super small eater. So, whenever I can't finish my food, Daniel would have to back me up.

Squid Risotto - RM 24.90

Squid risotto with CHEESE! It's like the only risotto they serve so yeah I got no other choice. But it's quite good, in addition it's one of the chef's recommendations too. Talking about risotto, it reminds me of the squid ink risotto I've tried in Cava, Bangsar which I really like. I blogged about it before, not here, but on Dayre. Anyway, I can't put both of them into comparison since they are two different style.

Le Pont Waffles - RM 11.90

If you know me well, I am actually a huge waffle lover and I love all kind of waffles. Another chef's recommendation, the Le Pont waffles are very crispy compared to all the waffles I've tried in many different cafes. Definitely the opposite texture of my favourite Madame waffles. Oh seemingly, it comes with four things; chocolate sauce, whipped cream, ice cream and mixed berries marmalade. I gotta say that it tasted well with all of them, especially, with the berries jam.

Conclusion: I love Le Pont! I don't always blog about every cafe I've been to, unless I guess its really good or better than my own expectation. I am a lazy bug, so if I really do blog about certain thing, it's either what I like or what worths my time sharing about. Of course, I am coming back! I need to try their sandwiches which are so appetizing on the appearance!
